FAQ - Deep Sea Export

My UCR shows SOE 0 – No Chief entry

  • Check you have entered the correct UCR into the UC screen. Input the UCR into DCON in CHIEF to check it is a valid UCR.
  • Check that you do not need to add a part number for the UCR.
  • If you are satisfied you have entered a valid UCR, please call the Help Desk for further advice.

My goods have cleared and exported with an incorrect UCR

  • Once a container has left the quay and reached a ‘G’ status, it is not possible to amend any information on the CNS system. You will need to advise the Post Clearance branch of HMR&C when a container has left with an incorrect UCR.

My goods have cleared under an incorrect UCR and are still on quay

  • The CNS Help Desk can action the change of a UCR on receiving written permission from HMR&C. The container must also be placed on a hold in the terminal system.

My UCR shows P2P – no PC checks

  • This is because a DUCR attached to the MUCR has not cleared, thus preventing the MUCR from reaching clearance. The CNS Help Desk can action the removal of the incorrect DUCR and the addition of a new DUCR upon receiving written permission from HMRC. Please complete Request MUCR Amendment form.

My MUCR has been arrived and I need to amend a DUCR attached to it

  • The Help Desk can action the removal of a DUCR with HMR&C written permission. Please complete Request MUCR Amendment form.

My exec has failed with an error message on the UC screen

  • This is because the terminal has sent a rejection message. Enter the box number on the UV screen to check the exact error and amend accordingly.

How can I check which containers have been attached to a UCR?

  • Enter the UCR and the USI onto the UL screen and enter; this will list the attached units.

Invalid UCR has been recorded

  • UCRs must adhere to the format defined by HMR&C. A UCR not in this format is allowed to be entered on the CNS system but you are warned that the CHIEF system may reject it. More information on the formatting of UCRs can be found on the HMR&C website here.

My UCR shows a reprocessing error in CHIEF

  • This indicates a problem with the UCR in the CHIEF system. You will need to report this to CHIEF Operations, quoting the full error and the UCR.
